School Philosophy:

As a Catholic parish school educating children in kindergarten through grade eight, St. Scholastica serves the needs of the community regardless of race, color, sex, nationality or ethnic origin.

Because it is an extension of the Body of Christ, the Church, it prepares its students to be witnesses to their Catholic faith, spreading Christ's message in all aspects of their lives.

The faculty provides the inspiration and curriculum that foster academic excellence in all areas of the students' performance.  Recognizing each child's unique talents, gifts and needs, we encourage them to complement each other and the catholic community.  Promoting an appreciation for the means to attain life-long learning skills, St. Scholastica provides students with an educational foundation on which they can build successful, meaningful futures.  Responsible citizenship is developed through worship and service, academics and extracurricular activities.  Meaningful relationships are nurtured, as respect for, and celebration of, ethnic traditions is modeled.

St. Scholastic recognizes that parents are the primary educators of their children and acts as an extension of the families.  Educating its students is the shared responsibility of parents and school personnel.

Manna

I am sorry to inform you that we will no longer be able to have manna stock at mass.  Unfortunately, several local churches have been victims of fraudulent checks used by a non-parishioner to buy manna.  Thankfully it did not happen at St. Scholastica but we need to eliminate the possibility.  The Manna Group and the police asked us to take the necessary precautions.

We know many new and loyal customers will be disappointed and inconvenienced by this change.  Please help in moving forward with this necessary change by letting others know and working with our new process:

We will accept order forms with checks at mass in the new wooden manna lockbox and in the Parish office during the week.  Orders received by Monday morning will be ready for pick up at the Parish by Wednesday afternoon.

Any suggestions you have, please forward to the school office.  Thank you for your cooperation and continuing to support our program!

Catholic Education Foundation

St. Scholastica School is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $4,000 from the Catholic Education Foundation of the Diocese of Joliet.
