Need Help?

STORM Youth Ministry is continuing a fundraiser to raise money for our Youth Ministry Mission Trips this summer. Participants are available to do odd jobs for a donation to our trips. This could include raking leaves, landscaping work, mowing the lawn, painting or shoveling snow. It could be a one time work project or ongoing. If you can give us at least one week notice that would be appreciated, or if it is ongoing, try to set it up ahead of time. All donations are then made payable to the St. Scholastica STORM Youth Ministry. Please contact Jennifer at youthministry@stscholasticaparish.org or 630-885-6439 to set up work projects.

On June 14, Go Mad, an in-house mission experience for our Junior High age students took place. They spent the day volunteering and providing service to those in need. You can view their experience by clicking the picture at the right to visit our YouTube page!

The Mission Trip Application to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with Catholic Heart Workcamp will take place June 12-18, 2022 and is an amazing trip!  It gives teens the opportunity to serve those in need for a week in the summer and spend time together for fun activities and prayer.  Catholic Heart has a really fun morning and evening program with games, skits, dancing, and music, and powerful prayer.  Most kids go in thinking they will be giving so much, but they end up getting more than they give!  It's open to 8th Graders & High School Teens!

World Youth Day 2023 to Lisbon, Portugal: July 25-August 7, 2023

St. Scholastica STORM Youth Ministry will be participating in World Youth Day (WYD) 2023 to Lisbon, Portugal. WYD 2023 will take place July 25-August 7, 2023 and will include stops in Paris, Lourdes, and Fatima before WYD.  This trip is open to all current high school teens, college students, and young adults! Applications and Deposits are Due by Sunday, January 30. The cost is included in the application, but we will be fundraising and had many teens and young adults that were able to fundraise a large part of their trip the last time we went to WYD and to our Italy Pilgrimage.

World Youth Day (WYD) is a pilgrimage of faith when the Holy Father calls his youth to himself for five days of prayer, meditation, and instruction.  With this are also much sightseeing, cultural experiences, and the opportunity to interact with Catholic youth from all over the world.  WYD brings together Catholic youth from over 150 countries to learn about their faith and celebrate it.  It is characterized by the happiness of youth being with the Pope and with each other.  At WYD 2023, participants will learn how Portuguese Catholics live their faith and also experience life in their country.  We will be traveling with other churches from our area.  Although this trip should be fun for the participants, please be aware that it is a Pilgrimage, not a vacation.  The main focus of the trip is the spiritual aspect. We have been participating in overseas pilgrimages for WYD since 2002.

Here is a video I like about WYD from JMJ, the travel agency we will be using for our pilgrimage:  https://youtu.be/Efsm4s8g2mg
